SMALL TOWN, COLORADO
The Eastern Plains of Colorado are home to many small, quiet towns that most people only see from a distance. Inspired by Stephen Shore’s Uncommon Places, specifically his photos of Presidio, Texas, I wanted to explore these towns and their sense of isolation. I am drawn to the way these landscapes feel layered—where a storefront, a telephone pole, and the horizon all stack together to tell a story.
In this series, I look for places that feel paused in time, away from the fast pace of modern life. My goal is to document the buildings and streets that make each town unique. By capturing these scenes in a simple, direct way, I hope to show the character of these lesser-known spots and the quiet beauty of being "out there."
